Anna Maria Laure

Title: Real-World Socio-Demographic and Clinical Characteristics in Major Depressive Disorder: A Multicenter Secondary Analysis of Trazodone as First-Line Therapy

Affiliation: Medical University of Vienna, Department of General Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

  • Secondary analysis from a European, cross-sectional, multicenter study of 1410 patients diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).
  • Patients were categorized based on first-line antidepressant: trazodone (≥150 mg/day, once-daily) or other agents.
  • Comparison of socio-demographic, clinical, and treatment characteristics between groups.
  • Use of statistical methods including chi-square tests, ANCOVAs, and post-hoc logistic regression analyses.

Dr. Anna M. Laure is a medical doctor who graduated from the Medical University of Vienna in 2024 and is currently in postgraduate clinical training with a focus on psychiatry and psychotherapy. She has gained clinical experience through rotations in Austria, Germany, and Tanzania. Dr. Laure has contributed to research within the Group for the Study of Resistant Depression (GSRD), focusing on real-world treatment strategies in major depressive disorder (MDD), and was previously involved in the CoviKET working group, focusing on the clinical evaluation of Long COVID. An abstract based on her research was published in Neuroscience Applied and presented at the ECNP Congress 2024. She also reviews for the International Journal of Psychiatry in Clinical Practice and was awarded the 2024 ÖGPB Prize for Clinical Psychiatry.

Alexander Lisinski

Title: Efficacy of antidepressants in children and adolescents: a comprehensive, patient-level, item-specific meta-analysis

Alexander received his medical degree in 2015 at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. After working as a junior doctor in psychiatry and general medicine, he began his PhD studies under supervision from professor Elias Eriksson, also at the Sahlgrenska Academy. In 2021, he defended his thesis ”On the efficacy and prescription of serotonin reuptake inhibitors”, with opponent professor Allan Young from King’s College, London. He received his medical license in 2024 and has since worked as a resident psychiatrist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. He continues his research at the Department of Pharmacology, Sahlgrenska Academy, with focus on current and novel treatments for depression, with methods including meta-analysis, register-based studies, and clinical trials.
